We don't stop hiking because we grow old, we grow old because we stop hiking. -- Finis Mitchell

REI blog post

Today I got a blog posted on the REI blog.

It's called:

Can a Video Game Improve Your Outdoor Survival Skills?

I talk about the new Man vs. Wild video game.

Please check it out and let me know what you think!

  1. Doing the real thing is more adrenalin pumping and heartstopping. Your brain is in full alert knowing all the real dangers are a possibility you can encounter and hope to survive. The video game version is amusing at best. Even if you get mauled by a bear at one stage you can always come back and redeem yourself so to speak. The video game version may be fun for sure but it's something to do when in a situation like yours. It will serve as motivation to heal quickly and go out there again for real. Maybe if they feature Sedona hiking trails in it, I'll "promote" it to my friends...LOL.
